VOTER REGISTRATION

IT’S THE RIGHT THING TO DO
AND
NOW’S THE RIGHT TIME TO DO IT
We are not just citizens of Heaven — we are also citizens of this state and this nation. As Christian citizens we should participate in government, which is one of only three institutions, along with the family and the church, that God ordained.

After changes to the law enacted in 1995, registering to vote is very easy. Each citizen can now accomplish his or her own registration by taking a few minutes to complete a simple form and dropping it by the County Clerk’s office or putting it in the mail to the Secretary of State.

An excellent idea is to obtain several forms and lead a registration drive in your church, in your neighborhood and in your community. No special training or qualification is necessary. Would you consider leading such an effort?

You may obtain the forms from your County Clerk’s office or by mail from the Secretary of State by calling 1-800-482-1127.

Together we can make a difference and not just impact public policy for the better — we can enhance our witness and the gospel message. Please do this and do it now for the sake of our children and our culture.

The Secretary of State offers some helpful hints for Voter Registration Drive Organizers:
  1. Please make sure that all completed applications are legible and signed.

  2. Please write "VRD01" in the "Agency Code (For official use only)" box located on the right side of the page half way down the application.

  3. If the applicant has a rural address, please ask him or her to draw a map at the bottom of the application (this is necessary to precinct the applicants.)

  4. Please use only black ink pens.

  5. If all of the applicants live in the same county, you may deliver the applications to the county clerk's office.

  6. If the applicants live in several different counties, please return them to the Secretary of State's office.

  7. Watch your deadline! If you submit the applications you gather in bulk, there will not be a postmark on each application. The county clerks will process the applications on the day the applications are turned in -- not on the date the application was signed. Applications will be processed for any specific election up to 25 days prior to the election.

  8. IMPORTANT NOTICE! ALL VOTERS MUST APPLY TO REGISTER TO VOTE AT LEAST 30 DAYS BEFORE ANY ELECTION IN WHICH THEY WISH TO VOTE!
